PPSA Nationals 2008 - The Congressman Bongbong Marcos Cup

Trekking the distance to Ilocos Norte is an adventure by itself. Taking the scenic route (by land) the entire trip may take somewhere between 7 to 9 hours. A long distance, indeed. But some of the interesting stops along the way are guaranteed to make the journey worth your while. May it be for the food (the empanadas of Ilocos Sur, boneless bangus in Pangasinan, goat dishes in Tarlac, the sisig of Pampanga, etc), shopping, or just plain sightseeing, taking that long car trip with your teammates or your special ones would definitely be worth it. And don't worry about getting lost along the way. Just take the National Highway all the way north; the range is just beside the highway before you enter Laoag City.

For the competitors who wish to let someone else to do the driving, daily bus trips to Laoag from Manila are readily available. Carriers such as Farinas Transit, AutoBus, Maria de Leon, Partas, and RCJ Lines will carry you safely all the way. Various types of seatings are also available and fares can range from P 550.00 to P 800.00, depending on the type of trip you choose.

Jetsetters can also hop on a flight that would take them directly to Laoag City. Cebu Pacific uses their brand new ATR 42 aircrafts for their Laoag route on a daily basis and their departure schedule is at 6:10 pm. Philippine Airlines has morning flights to Laoag during Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and afternoon flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
